Join One of our Exciting Committees
The Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce is committed to serving the changing needs of our communities. As such, Chamber task forces and committees frequently take on special initiatives that reflect these changing needs. We hope that our members will consider getting involved with one of these initiatives, which has the ability to significantly and positively reshape the business climate for our area.
Rail to Dulles: Phase 2 Tax District
The Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with its sister trade organizations, is staging a three-pronged initiative regarding to the Phase 2 Tax District for Rail to Dulles. The first is to persuade the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors to provide supportive language to the developmental community for higher densities around the local rail stations at Reston Town Center, Herndon-Monroe, and CIT. The second push is to demonstrate to the landowners the benefits of joining WARD, the Phase 2 Tax District group. The third is to inform the public about the challenges now existing, due to monetary commitments that the County must make by the end of the year in order to have there stations' platforms included in the engineering design by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority. Branding of the Dulles Region
The Economic Development Committee of the Dulles Regional Chamber has comissioned Dr. Stephen Fuller, Director of George Mason University's Center for Regional Analysis, to research and present unique new data regarding the demographics of the Dulles Region. Defined as a circle radiating outward about 8 miles from the new Control Tower at Dulles Airport, the Dulles Region will then be recreated on aerial maps that show projected and actual development within the Region.
