Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce

Herndon Chamber  |  Chantilly-Centreville Chamber

Environmental Committee

Mission: As Fairfax and its neighboring counties continue to grow, so do the demands and impact on our environment. While growth begins prosperity and opportunity, increasingly business and governmental entities are recognizing the importance of reviewing their policies and practices that impact the environment.

The Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce (DRCC) can play an important role in bridging the gap between public sector program and policies and will serve as a catalyst and partner with our members in identifying actions that may be taken within the workplace that will promote a more environmentally responsible community.

Projects

  • To coordinate with the County's Enviornmental office and actively serve as Fairfax Green Program
  • To raise the environmental standards of business through promoting a series of initiatives, including the following

    A. Offer members an opportunity to be known as a green company in the Chamber's Business directory by fulfilling a number of those actions.

    B. Provide an Enviornmental Tip of the Month to our business members through print, electronic newsletter and website posting.

    C. Generate activities commensurate with our mission on an ongoing basis.

    D. Afford members the opportunity to hear environmental experts speak.

Steering Committee Members: Peter R. Ryus (Smith Barney), Chairman; Bob Benedict (Northwood Construction); Peter Murray (Hidden Landscaping); Tim Sargeant (Dominion Power); Shimin Luo (Monitor Essential Products); Lise Lingo (writer); Tara Buongiorni Ajello (CH2M Hill).
